Merchandiser

Job Description:

As a Merchandiser, one must be able to handle various tasks, including inventory restocking, cash register operation, and cleaning tasks for maintaining store appeal. Excellent communication with colleagues is a requirement to deliver exceptional customer service and boost the ALDI team's workflow.

• Position Type: Full-Time
• The usual workload consists of 32 to 40 hours worked per week

Tasks and Requirements:

The employee must fulfill their assigned tasks and requirements, with or without an adjustment.

• Continuously improve upon the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) by learning new skill sets, receiving constructive feedback, and implementing new methods.
• Sales clerks are accountable for processing customer payments, carrying out maintenance duties, and arranging merchandise shelves in a presentable and organized way
• The provision of remarkable customer service involves being not only responsive but proactive in identifying and addressing customers' shopping needs
• By working collaboratively with your team and communicating effectively with the store management team, you can succeed
• By providing feedback to management on all products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues, greater transparency and collaboration can be achieved
• Abide by guidelines for taking inventory counts and verify the precision of inventory
• Adherence to established cash policies and procedures is critical in minimizing financial loss
• Ensures strict compliance with established protocols to maintain the confidentiality and security of documents and data

Physical Demands:

• Capability to shift products from the receiving section of the store to the shelves, as well as adeptness in displaying products weighing up to 45 pounds at various elevations on the shelves
• As part of the job requirement, one should execute an array of physical duties in the store such as sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking consistently
• The expectation is that all employees can execute their job requirements, regardless of any potential accommodation needs

Qualifications:

• It is necessary for candidates to be legally recognized as adults and be 18 years or older to apply for the ALDI opportunity
• Talent in offering prompt and affable service to customers
• Proficiency in using cash registers can help cashiers identify discrepancies quickly, thus minimizing the risk of cash loss or theft incidents
• Skilled in the secure and proper handling of machinery, specifically cardboard balers, electric/manual hand jacks, and floor scrubbers
• Proficiency in performing routine cleaning tasks to meet the set standards of the organization
• By interpreting and adhering to company policies and procedures, employees can avoid confusion and miscommunication within the workplace
• Aptitude for clear and concise verbal and written communication
• The flexibility to work independently or as part of a team is a positive attribute employers look for
• Possessing the proficiency to stay organized, pay close attention to particulars, carry out instructions, and handle multiple assignments with professionalism and efficiency
• Ensure that proper licensing is obtained and maintained, as well as any necessary permits, to sell and handle alcoholic beverages in accordance with state and local laws

Education and Experience:

• Preference will be given to candidates who hold a high school diploma or the equivalent
• A retail background is a valuable asset
• Equivalence in expertise can be achieved by gaining knowledge from both education and experience
