Job Summary of Store Potential Manager:
As a Store Potential Manager, you will partake in training sessions covering all areas of running a store effectively to equip you for managing your store later on. Your role will encompass supervising daily store operations, ensuring store performance, identifying staffing needs, organizing schedules, creating operational plans, and providing mentorship for team growth.
Duties and Responsibilities of Store Potential Manager:
- Required to demonstrate the capacity to fulfill duties with or without reasonable adjustments. Exhibit a consistent display of the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) for the role.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations and performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service for the customer Understands the overarching company strategy, as well as communicates and models the core values of the organization, to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees Handles customer concerns and ensures an appropriate resolution
- Ensures proper store signage is maintained at all times, as well as the quality and freshness of ALDI products Assists in the hiring of store personnel by reviewing resumes and employment applications, as well as interviewing candidates Prepares, manages, and revises weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels
- Clarifying and sharing job responsibilities and performance criteria with subordinates to ensure mutual understanding and achievement of desired results
- Conducts store meetings Identifies training and development opportunities that will assist direct reports in achieving enhanced performance Conducts annual performance evaluations, recommending store personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate Achieves store payroll and total loss budgets Manages cash audits in conjunction with their direct leader according to company guidelines Monitors the competitive environment within the community and makes recommendations to the direct leader regarding adjustments necessary to maintain a competitive position
- Shares insights with their direct leader on products, proposing new items to stock or discontinue. Ensures a safe environment for employees, customers, and vendors by recognizing and resolving hazards, advocating for proper ergonomics, and maintaining the functionality of store equipment. Manages the presentation of products and maintains optimal stock levels through efficient product ordering
- Carries out store inventory counts and reconciliations following company-mandated guidelines
Physical Demands of Store Potential Manager:
- Proficiency in arranging goods from store reception to setting them up on shelves; proficiency in positioning items, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelves at varying heights. Regularly expected to be in a seated, upright, bent, stretched, pushed, pulled, raised, carried, and walked around the store. Must be capable of executing responsibilities with or without reasonable modifications.
Qualifications of Store Potential Manager:
- Individuals interested in this role at ALDI must meet the age requirement of at least 18 years old to be eligible for employment
- Aptitude for performing well independently and as a team contributor
- Skill in furnishing and supervising the delivery of prompt and courteous customer support

- Aptitude in grasping and applying management doctrines regarding budgetary planning, human resource expenditures, and financial disbursements
- Proficiency in the efficient and accurate operation of a cash register
- Demonstrated ability in the secure and efficient operation of equipment, including electric or manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers, and in meeting general cleaning requirements set by the company
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is the preferred qualification for this opportunity
- A minimum of three years of gradual growth in a retail role
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge Prior management experience preferred Travel: Full-Time Store Manager Trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements ALDI offers
