Retail Store Assistant

Join our team as a Retail Store Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in creating an outstanding shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include merchandising and stocking products, handling cashier duties, and ensuring the store remains clean and inviting.

Position Type: Full-Time
Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Starting Wage: $17.50 per hour
Wage Increases: Year 2 - $18.00 Year 3 - $18.50 Year 4 - $18.50 Year 5 - $19.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enhance the customer shopping experience by delivering exceptional service.
• Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store.
• Stock shelves and merchandise displays in accordance with company standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members and provide constructive feedback to management.
• Participate in inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Follow cash handling policies to minimize losses.
• Adhere to all company policies while ensuring confidentiality and security of information.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stock merchandise and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves of various heights.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and walking.
• Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in operating a cash register.
• Familiarity with operating store equipment (electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, etc.).
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
• Meet state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior retail experience is a plus.
• A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
