Retail Store Associate

As a Retail Store Associate, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer shopping experience through merchandising, stocking, cashiering, and maintaining a clean and inviting store environment. Your collaborative spirit with the retail team and focus on exceptional customer service will be key to your success.

Position Type: Full-Time
Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week
Starting Wage: $18.50 per hour
Wage Progression: Year 2 - $19.00, Year 3 - $19.50, Year 4 - $19.50, Year 5 - $20.50

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Consistently embody the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) appropriate for the role.
• Process customer purchases and provide general cleaning services to maintain store appearance.
• Stock shelves and merchandise displays in an organized manner to enhance product visibility.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and assist shoppers with their needs.
• Communicate effectively with team members and provide feedback to management on product and inventory-related matters.
• Participate in regular inventory counts and ensure accuracy in stock monitoring.
• Comply with cash handling policies to minimize losses.
• Adhere to all company policies regarding security and document confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stock merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the store.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Demonstrated ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Efficient and accurate operation of a cash register.
• Capability to safely operate equipment, such as electric/manual hand jacks and floor scrubbers.
• Competence in performing cleaning duties to company standards.
• Ability to understand and apply company policies and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must meet local and state requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a retail setting is preferred.
• A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
