Job Summary of Store General Helper:

As a Store General Helper, you be responsible for merchandising and stocking product, cashiering, and cleaning to keep the store looking its best. You enhance the customer shopping experience by working collaboratively with the ALDI team and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities of Store General Helper:

• Mandated to execute tasks with or without necessary adjustments.
• Consistently display the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) in accordance with the role's outlined standards.
• Manages customer transactions, carries out standard cleaning duties, and tidies up shelves and merchandise displays appropriately
• Aid customers in their shopping endeavors through top-tier customer service
• Engage in joint efforts with your team and communicate openly with the store management team
• Provide management with a detailed account of product statuses, inventory losses, scanning discrepancies, and general operational issues to facilitate strategic decision-making
• Play a role in store inventory checks following set guidelines and ensuring the accuracy of inventory monitoring
• Maintains adherence to cash procedures to minimize the possibility of financial loss
• Adheres rigorously to established corporate policies and procedures to safeguard the security and confidentiality of documents and data
• Extra tasks may be delegated

Physical Demands of Store General Helper:

• Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk about the store
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications of Store General Helper:

• Employment at ALDI requires applicants to be at least 18 years of age or older
• Capability to offer swift and respectful customer service
• Capability to effectively and accurately manage transactions on a cash register
• Capability in safely and effectively using machinery like electric or manual hand pallet jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers
• Ability to conduct routine cleaning duties to the satisfaction of the company
• Ability to comprehend and put into practice corporate policies and procedures
• Proficiency in articulating thoughts clearly in speech and writing
• Proficient in working autonomously and in a team-oriented environment
• Delineating aptitude in preserving order, paying attention to details, following directives, and multitasking in a competent and efficient manner
• Meet all the state and local requisites relevant to the appropriate management and selling of alcoholic drinks
• It is preferred for applicants to possess a high school diploma or its equivalent
• A retail background is preferred
• Equivalent expertise garnered through a combination of academic learning and on-the-job training
