Job Summary of Store Development Trainee:
In the role of a Store Development Trainee you will be trained in every facet of managing a store successfully to prepare for eventually managing a store independently. Your tasks will include supervising daily store operations, ensuring overall store efficiency, identifying staffing requirements, handling schedules, devising operational plans, and mentoring and cultivating the team.
Duties and Responsibilities of Store Development Trainee:

- Supervises the team's daily tasks and output to offer superior customer service consistently. Grasps the overarching corporate strategy, articulates it clearly, and exemplifies the core values of the enterprise to cultivate a sense of camaraderie and integration within the workforce. Manages customer inquiries and secures a suitable resolution
- Ensures proper store signage is maintained at all times, as well as the quality and freshness of ALDI products Assists in the hiring of store personnel by reviewing resumes and employment applications, as well as interviewing candidates Prepares, manages, and revises weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels
- Defining and sharing job obligations and expected performance levels with immediate reports to ensure clarity and favorable outcomes
- Conducts retail meetings, identifies training and growth opportunities to help team members excel, and carries out yearly performance assessments. Hits store payroll and total loss targets and conducts cash audits following company guidelines. Monitors the local competition and advises on strategies to maintain a competitive stance
- Provides recommendations to their direct supervisor concerning products, including suggestions for new items to be introduced or existing ones to be removed. Ensures a safe environment for employees, customers, and vendors by pinpointing and resolving potential hazards, fostering good ergonomic practices, and upholding the upkeep of store equipment. Supervises product arrangement and keeps track of inventory levels by placing orders as needed
- Performs additional responsibilities as delegated beyond inventory tasks
Physical Demands of Store Development Trainee:
- Ability in stocking products from store receiving to shelving and placing products, weighing a maximum of 45 pounds, on shelving at different heights. Regularly required to be in a sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and moving around the store. Must have the capacity to carry out tasks with or without appropriate accommodations.
Qualifications of Store Development Trainee:
- The minimum age requirement to apply for this job at ALDI is 18 years old

- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- Individuals with a High School Diploma or equivalent are preferred for this position
- A minimum of three years of increasing responsibility within the retail industry
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge Prior management experience preferred Travel: Full-Time Store Manager Trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements ALDI offers
