Job Summary of Assistant Store Sales Manager:

When you join our team as an Assistant Store Sales Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including assisting with supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while identifying training opportunities to develop and grow the team.

• Contributes to the recruitment of store employees by conducting interviews
• Shares information that comprises weekly updates, important team accomplishments, progress, and areas of worry
• Makes certain that store personnel comply with inventory procedures, guidelines for handling products, and cash control policies to reduce losses
• Responsible for addressing operational customer issues in the direct supervisor's nonattendance
• Recognizes and rectifies potential dangers, upholds proper ergonomics, and preserves the functionality of store machinery
• Maintains the cleanliness criteria of the store and ensures proper signage is displayed at all times
• Supports the supervisor in managing inventory by placing orders for necessary items
• Goods are presented in an orderly fashion to enhance sales potential
• Tasks involve verifying the quality and freshness of products available for sale, as well as ensuring the accuracy of product pricing information
• Aids the manager in reaching the store's payroll and total loss budget goals while also overseeing inventory assessments and employee training
• Oversees the team's day-to-day tasks, escalating any issues to the appropriate support or leadership level if needed
• Makes certain that team members carry out their assigned duties promptly and proficiently to ensure exceptional customer service within the company
• Upholds compliance with all established company policies and procedures, particularly in relation to the protection and confidentiality of documents and data, while also performing other duties as required

Physical Demands of Assistant Store Sales Manager:

• Capability in stocking goods from store delivery to shelves; proficient in positioning products, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelves at different heights
• It is a common expectation to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and ambulate within the store on a regular basis
• Performing tasks with or without appropriate accommodations is a key component

Qualifications of Assistant Store Sales Manager:

• You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
• Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
• Ability to establish goals, guide employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of work assignments
• Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
• Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
• Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
• Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties to company standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail
• Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
• A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
• Prior management experience preferred
