Job Summary of Store Coordinator Trainee:
As a trainee for the Store Coordinator Trainee position, you will learn all elements of efficiently running a store in readiness for future store management. Your responsibilities will involve overseeing the daily store activities, ensuring overall store success, identifying staffing needs, managing schedules, planning operational strategies, and guiding the team's development.
Duties and Responsibilities of Store Coordinator Trainee:
- Expected to perform tasks with or without reasonable adjustments. Exhibit a consistent display of the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) required for the position.
- Overseeing the team's daily operations and effectiveness to deliver the highest quality of customer service. Understanding the larger company strategy and effectively communicating and embodying the organization's core values to cultivate a sense of teamwork and belonging among employees. Handling customer issues and ensuring appropriate resolutions
- Ensures proper store signage is maintained at all times, as well as the quality and freshness of ALDI products Assists in the hiring of store personnel by reviewing resumes and employment applications, as well as interviewing candidates Prepares, manages, and revises weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels
- Establishing and articulating job responsibilities and performance standards to direct reports to secure mutual comprehension and intended achievements
- Organizes store meetings and identifies chances for training and development to support direct reports in boosting their performance. Carries out annual performance evaluations, recommending progress or termination of store personnel as appropriate. Achieves store payroll and total loss goals. Manages cash audits in collaboration with their manager following company guidelines. Keeps a close watch on the competitive landscape in the community and advises on necessary adjustments to stay ahead
- Gives feedback to their supervisor regarding products, offering insights on potential new additions to the assortment or phasing out low-performing items. Maintains a secure environment for staff, customers, and vendors by pinpointing and remedying hazards, advocating for proper ergonomics, and preserving the functional status of store equipment. Manages product display and ensures appropriate stock levels through efficient product ordering
- Completes store inventory audits and reconciliations according to company directives
Physical Demands of Store Coordinator Trainee:
- Competency to organize merchandise from store delivery to shelving; competency to position products, with a weight limit of 45 pounds, on shelves at various elevations. Routinely expected to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store. Ability to perform duties regardless of the need for reasonable adjustments.
Qualifications of Store Coordinator Trainee:
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports

- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately

- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge Prior management experience preferred Travel: Full-Time Store Manager Trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements ALDI offers
