Retail Specialist

Job Description:

In order to excel as a Retail Specialist, exceptional customer service must be provided by collaborating with the ALDI team and ensuring that merchandising, stocking, and cleaning duties are fulfilled. Working ambitiously will cultivate a desirable shopping experience for customers.

• Position Type: Full-Time
• Workers are required to invest a total of 32 to 40 hours of their week into their job

Tasks and Requirements:

The employee must fulfill their assigned tasks and requirements, with or without an adjustment.

• The responsibilities of cashiers encompass processing customer transactions, performing cleaning duties, and arranging merchandise shelves in an orderly manner

• Achieving success requires strong collaboration and clear communication with the store management team
• By providing feedback to management on all products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues, greater transparency and collaboration can be achieved

• Proper adherence to cash policies and procedures reduces the likelihood of incurring financial loss
• Keeps a keen eye on document and data security by sticking to company policies and procedures, thereby avoiding unauthorized access and preserving confidentiality

Physical Demands:

• Capability in shifting store merchandise from the receiving area to the shelves while proficiently placing items weighing up to 45 pounds at different elevations on the shelves
• Consistently, one should be engaged in multiple physical tasks like sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking while working in the store
• Regardless of the need or availability of accommodations, the employee must be able to execute their duties

Qualifications:

• In order to be considered for the job opening at ALDI, prospective employees must be 18 years of age or older
• Mastery in furnishing prompt and courteous service to customers
• To achieve greater proficiency in operating cash registers, cashiers should familiarize themselves with the particular software and systems being used in their workplace
• The ability to competently operate equipment such as floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, and electric/manual hand jacks in a proper and safe manner
• Proficiency in performing routine cleaning tasks to meet the set standards of the organization
• A thorough understanding of company policies and procedures allows employees to act in a timely and efficient manner
• Ability to convey information effectively through speech and writing
• Having the aptitude for both independent and collaborative work is essential to success in many professions
• Being proficient in staying organized, paying attention to particulars, executing instructions, and managing multiple tasks efficiently and professionally
• Never serve or sell alcohol to someone who appears to be intoxicated or under the age of 21, as it is illegal and puts both the person and the establishment at risk

Education and Experience:

• Possessing a high school diploma or an equivalent educational background is preferable
• Retail job experience is a desired attribute
• The combination of education and hands-on practice can result in equivalent knowledge
