Job Summary of Store Associate Manager:
When you join our team as an Store Associate Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including assisting with supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while identifying training opportunities to develop and grow the team.
Responsibilities of Store Associate Manager:
- The individual must be capable of fulfilling responsibilities with or without necessary adjustments
- Collaborating with the direct leader to devise and implement strategies that drive better operating results
- It conveys and defines the duties of a position and the standards of performance to employees under their supervision, fostering a shared understanding and achieving specific outcomes
- Pinpoints ways to provide training and development opportunities that will help their direct reports perform better
- Grasps the overall business strategy and effectively communicates and embodies the fundamental principles of the company to foster unity and belonging within the workforce
- Observes the competitive setting in the local vicinity and communicates with the direct supervisor about any essential modifications required to maintain the company's competitive edge
- Offers feedback to the immediate supervisor by suggesting new products to stock or identifying items that should be removed from the inventory
- Contributes to the recruitment of store employees by conducting interviews
- Conveys details such as updates on a weekly basis, significant achievements of the team, advancements, and issues of importance
- Makes certain that store personnel comply with inventory procedures, guidelines for handling products, and cash control policies to reduce losses
- Ensures operational customer concerns are effectively resolved in the absence of their immediate supervisor
- Recognizes and rectifies potential dangers, upholds proper ergonomics, and preserves the functionality of store machinery
- Ensures that the store upholds high standards of cleanliness consistently
- Supports the supervisor in managing inventory by placing orders for necessary items
- Products are displayed in an organized manner to optimize revenue
- Tasks involve verifying the quality and freshness of products available for sale, as well as ensuring the accuracy of product pricing information
- Supports the immediate supervisor in meeting store payroll and overall loss budget objectives, conducting inventory audits, and onboarding fresh staff members
- Oversees the team's day-to-day tasks, escalating any issues to the appropriate support or leadership level if needed
- Ensures that subordinates fulfill their designated tasks promptly and efficiently to deliver optimal customer service for the organization
- Upholds compliance with all established company policies and procedures, particularly in relation to the protection and confidentiality of documents and data, while also performing other duties as required
Physical Demands of Store Associate Manager:
- Capability in stocking goods from store delivery to shelves; proficient in positioning products, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelves at different heights
- Regularly necessitated to engage in sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and moving around the store
- Performing tasks with or without appropriate accommodations is a key component
Qualifications of Store Associate Manager:
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Ability to establish goals, guide employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of work assignments
- Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
- Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
- Prior management experience preferred
