Job Summary of In-Store Helper:
In the position of a In-Store Helper, you will be tasked with organizing and refilling products, managing payments, and tidying up to maintain the store's aesthetic appeal. Your objective is to enrich customers' shopping interactions by collaborating with the ALDI team and offering exceptional service to satisfy their needs.
Responsibilities of In-Store Helper:
- Required to fulfill job duties with or without reasonable assistance.
- Exhibit a continuous display of the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) as described for the role.
- Executes customer purchases, fulfills general cleaning obligations, and maintains orderly stocking on shelves and merchandise exhibits
- Deliver excellent customer assistance to ensure a seamless shopping experience for all visitors
- Foster collaboration among team members and ensure transparent communication with the store management team
- Present management with a detailed report detailing the status of all products, inventory losses, scanning inaccuracies, and general operational challenges for their review
- Join in the process of conducting store inventory assessments as per guidelines and supervising inventory accuracy
- Adheres to the rules and regulations related to cash handling to limit any financial setbacks
- Upholds adherence to approved company policies and procedures while prioritizing the security and privacy of information
- Extra assignments could be assigned as needed
Physical Demands of In-Store Helper:
- Proficiency in stocking store merchandise from receiving area to shelving; adeptness in placing products, with a weight limit of 45 pounds, onto shelves at varying heights
- Routine tasks involve sitting, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking around the store
- Ability to execute job duties with or without the provision of reasonable assistance
Qualifications of In-Store Helper:
- You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler
- Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to stay organized, give attention to detail, follow instructions and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
- Meet any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
