Job Summary of Assistant General Store Manager:
When you join our team as an Assistant General Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including assisting with supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while identifying training opportunities to develop and grow the team.
Responsibilities of Assistant General Store Manager:

- Aiding in the creation and execution of action plans to enhance operating efficiency alongside the primary manager

- Grasps the overall business strategy and effectively communicates and embodies the fundamental principles of the company to foster unity and belonging within the workforce
- Keeps a close watch on the competitive environment in the community and informs the immediate leader about any required alterations to sustain the company's competitive position
- Offers feedback to the immediate supervisor by suggesting new products to stock or identifying items that should be removed from the inventory
- Joins in the interviewing process to evaluate potential store personnel
- Conveys details such as updates on a weekly basis, significant achievements of the team, advancements, and issues of importance
- Ensures that store employees conform to inventory procedures, guidelines for product handling, and cash control policies to mitigate losses
- Ensures operational customer concerns are effectively resolved in the absence of their immediate supervisor
- Identifies and mitigates hazards, maintains proper ergonomics, and ensures the smooth operation of store equipment
- Ensures that the store upholds high standards of cleanliness consistently
- Assists the direct leader in maintaining adequate stock levels through effective ordering processes
- Products are displayed in an organized manner to optimize revenue
- Responsibilities include maintaining the freshness and quality of goods for sale, along with ensuring the precision of product tags
- Supports the immediate supervisor in meeting store payroll and overall loss budget objectives, conducting inventory audits, and onboarding fresh staff members
- Manages the team's daily responsibilities, escalating any challenges to the relevant support or leadership level when necessary
- Ensures that subordinates fulfill their designated tasks promptly and efficiently to deliver optimal customer service for the organization
- Ensures conformity with all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding the security and confidentiality of documents and data, while also carrying out other assigned tasks
Physical Demands of Assistant General Store Manager:
- Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store

Qualifications of Assistant General Store Manager:
- Applicants must have turned 18 years old to be eligible for employment in this position at ALDI

- Capability to effectively and securely handle equipment such as electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers while also executing general cleaning tasks up to company guidelines
- Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities
- Capacity to maintain order and juggle multiple tasks in a competent and productive way, adhering to directions and focusing on small particulars
- Aligns with the state and local requirements for the legal handling and distribution of alcoholic beverages
- Preference given to candidates with a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Experience in the retail industry for at least three years
- A blend of academic learning and practical exposure leading to comparable expertise
- Those with a history of supervisory roles are given priority
