Job Summary of Retail Lead Trainee:

As a trainee for the position of Retail Lead Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training covering all store operations to prepare for eventually managing your own store. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily store operations, monitoring store performance, recognizing staffing requirements, organizing work shifts, creating operational strategies, and providing guidance and support in team development.

Duties and Responsibilities of Retail Lead Trainee:

• Oversees the daily functions and productivity of the team to deliver top-notch customer service. • Ensures that store signs are kept up to date and that ALDI products remain fresh and of high quality Assists in the recruitment of store staff by evaluating resumes and job applications, as well as conducting interviews Plans, oversees, and adjusts weekly timetables to guarantee optimal staffing levels in the store Conducts and maintains proper store signage consistently, along with ensuring the quality and freshness of ALDI merchandise Participates in the selection process of store employees by assessing CVs and job forms and conducting candidate interviews Coordinates, supervises, and updates weekly schedules to maintain suitable levels of store personnel Takes charge of maintaining accurate store signage and ensuring the freshness and quality of ALDI goods Participates in the recruitment of store staff by examining resumes and job applications and interviewing potential employees Manages, organizes, and amends weekly schedules to guarantee adequate staffing levels in the store Ensures the proper upkeep of store signs and the freshness and quality of ALDI products Aids in hiring store personnel through the evaluation of resumes and job applications and the interviewing of candidates Creates, oversees, and adjusts weekly schedules to maintain appropriate staffing levels in the store
• Clearly outlining job duties and performance standards to team members to promote a shared understanding and achieve desired outcomes
• Facilitates store meetings, recognizing chances for training and growth to help team members improve their performance. Carries out yearly performance assessments, suggesting promotions or dismissals of store staff as needed. Meets store's payroll and loss targets. Coordinates cash audits following corporate protocols. Keeps tabs on the local competition and advises on strategies to uphold a competitive edge
• Provides input to their immediate supervisor about products, including suggestions on adding new items to the inventory or removing those that are not performing well. Ensures the safety of employees, customers, and suppliers by recognizing and addressing potential risks, promoting good ergonomics, and keeping all store equipment in good condition. Supervises the display of products and keeps track of stock levels by ordering products as required
• Executes store inventory checks and reconciliations in adherence to company protocols

Physical Demands of Retail Lead Trainee:

• Capability to organize items from shop delivery to placing them on shelves; capability to place items, with a maximum weight of 45 pounds, on shelves at different levels. Frequently needed to be seated, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, hoisting, carrying, and moving around the store. Should be capable of carrying out tasks with or without necessary adjustments.

Qualifications of Retail Lead Trainee:

• To be employed for this position at ALDI, you need to be at least 18 years old

• Preference is given to candidates with a High School Diploma or its equivalent
• At least three years of advancing involvement in a retail setting
